Edith Ellen “Black”Fleming passed away December 21, 2013 in Lenox, Missouri at the age of 97 years. Edith was born September 3, 1916 in Lecoma, MO, the daughter of William Doan Black and Annie Mary “Schmedke” Black. Edith enjoyed working outside, gardening, planting flowers, gathering walnuts and picking blackberries. Edith was a homemaker, loved sewing, cooking for the farm hands when she was younger and canning, Edith was a devout Christian, believed in prayer and Gods healing touch, never met a stranger,”some called her Granny”and loved spending time with family and friends. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Fleming and a son Paul Fleming also 2 sisters; Alma Wilson, and Louisa Wagner, also 4 brothers; Dolph ,Azell, Wilferd and Lester Black. Edith is survived by her daughter Ann Brown and husband Richard of Lenox, 7 grandchildren; Gail, Karen, Shirley, Rhonda, Robert, Melissa and Paulette also12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. The graveside funeral service will be December 23, 2013, at 11:00am at Edgar Springs Cemetery in Edgar Springs, MO. Interment will be at the Edgar Springs Cemetery in Edgar Springs, MO. All arrangements were made under the direction of Teague And Sons Funeral Home in Newburg, MO.
