Nora Mae Murphy, 87 years and 9 months old of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Lavonne and Max Dale Speers. She was born on December 29, 1923 to the late Roberta and Charles Leivan in Barton County, Missouri. She worked for the United Telephone Company for 32 years as an Operator; she was President of the Mid-West Union for 6 years during that time. She was preceded in death by her husband Eldon, they met on a Friday and married on Monday and were married for 58 1/2 years. She was famous for her pies and pickled beets. She learned to dance, fish and Bowl. She bowled in the RMB Keylers League and the Trios League. She had a green thumb and she loved flowers and gardening. Hummingbirds were her favorite bird but she loved all birds. She was the heart of our family we will miss her tremendously. She is over the rainbow with Jesus now. She is survived by her daughter, Lavonne Speers of Fayetteville, NC; a son Larry Murphy of Hitchcock, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Patricia Speers Cave, Michael Murphy Sanders, Pamela Speers Leeman, Timmy Murphy Sanders, William Speers, Karen Murphy Adams, Elaine Murphy Bourland, Donna Murphy, Kevin Murphy, and Larry Earl Murphy; 16 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, 2 adopted great-grandchildren, and a wealth of cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by husband Eldon Murphy; son, Orvil Murphy; a grandson, Roger Speers, and all brothers and sisters. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 6pm till 8pm at the Teague And Sons Funeral Home in Newburg, MO. The funeral service will be Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 11:00am at the Teague And Sons Funeral Home in Newburg, MO. Interment will be at the Pea Ridge-Roach Cemetery in Doolittle, MO. All arrangements were made under the direction of the Teague And Sons Funeral Home in Newburg, MO. Condolences may be made to the family at teagueand
